Body fat is an essential component of our bodies, and there is nothing inherently bad about about it biochcmically
What causes problems is when we carry to much of it for our own good
And the vast majority of us do exactly that!
And how does it get there? Simpy put, usually this is because we eat too many of the wrong foods and do too little of the right activity or carry too little muscle, though some rare medical conditions beyond our powers are sometimes responsible
However, to complicate matters, we now know that some of us may be better off staying fatter than we should be: how can this be?
We don’t really know, but it is possible that once the body reaches a new, and fatter, set point, it can sometimes do more harm than good to shed much of the added fat
So who should shed fat? Simply put, those who want to, or those who have been advised to for health reasons
The attached pages should help explain more about it all
